Rev. Dr. Repsie M. Warren
Founder/Pastor |

“Then I heard the Lord asking, whom shall I send as a messenger to my
people? Who will go? And I said, Lord I’ll go! Send me.”
With this Biblical
response, I, Repsie Marie Warren, vowed to be God’s special messenger to a
unique people – those who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, mainstreamed with the
hearing. It was not of my doing, but it was the working of the Holy Spirit,
which allowed Reverend Dorothy J. Josey and I to be the Founder and
Co-Founder of the Society For Helping Church. |

On Palm Sunday, 1976, the Society For Helping
church was officially introduced to
the Philadelphia vicinity. Some skeptics thought that because of the
population it served and because it was shepherded by a female Pastor that
it would not survive long. But today, twenty-eight years later, Society
Church not only survived but it has an outstanding history of service to
God, to His people, to His community and to His country. We give God all
the Honor! We give God all the Praise! We give God all the Glory!

From the Pastor's Desk |
|
| "When in former times God spoke to our
forefathers, He spoke in fragmentary and varied fashion through the
prophets. But in this the final age He has spoken to us in the Son," |
|
|
- Hebrews 1:1-2 |
|
| As we allow the move of God
to be manifested in our lives, we are in agreement with the author of
Hebrews, "He has spoken to us in the Son." What this is saying to us at
Society for Helping Church is that God wants to reveal himself in a
unique and totally different way to each of us. Through a team effort,
we will each connect ourselves to sharing a personal revelation - God
instead of sending another prophet, gave himself, to live and die as we
all do. To allow the move of God to
guide us on our way, we must recapture our history of our unique
ministry, deaf and hearing, helping to build the Kingdom of God. We
share with thousands in singing for over thirty-one years - "Word of the
Father now in flesh appearing, O come let us adore Him, Christ the
Lord."
We are a blessed church and can only say,
"To God be the Glory" for allowing us to serve Him in "Spirit and in
Truth." We are grateful for all the members, families, and friends who
have supported FSociety Church. |
